MACROS
This is where I DON'T tell you to eat "clean". This is where I DON'T tell you to highly restrict calories. This is where I DON'T tell you to avoid all carbs or fats. This is where I DON'T shame you for occasionally enjoying pizza or ice cream or a hot dog or an alcoholic beverage. This is where I DO remind you that you are human; that you CAN enjoy all of the foods; all of the macronutrients; and STILL achieve your goal physique. It will never be easy. It will never be fast. But the journey does not have to be miserable or make you feel like you cannot live life to the fullest while working toward your goals. I can teach you how to eat FOR your goals; not against them. And to actually enjoy the process!
protein
The Primary "Muscle Maker"
Beef, fish, poultry, nuts, eggs, dairy, beans...Protein is THE building block of muscle and is an important component of every cell in the body. Your body uses protein to build and repair tissues (read: MUSCLE). The body needs relatively large amounts of protein; and for someone wanting to build muscle, large amounts are essential.
fat
The Great Satiater and Hormone Regulator
Almonds, bacon, chocolate, avocado, olives, egg yolks, cheese...mmmmm...cheese! Better body composition, regulated hormones, more muscle, easier fat loss, less depression, better brain function...the list goes on and on. What's not to love?
carbohydrates
The Energizer, the "Brains" Behind the Operation, the Muscle Builder
Without a doubt, carbs are the most vilified of the macros. Poor carbs. They don't deserve their bad reputation. "Comfort foods" are generally high in carbs. Why? Because they makes us feel amazing! Carbs give us energy, they keep our brains sharp, they help us recover from training, they raise our serotonin levels (the "feel good" chemical). You CAN eat carbs and lose body fat. You CAN even eat A LOT of carbs and continue to see positive changes in your body composition.
